Located on Lookout Mountain in Dade County Georgia, approximately 30 miles from Chattanooga, Lookout Highlands is a beautiful 1500-acre gated community. The development was started in 1988 by Lookout Atlantis, LLC, on property acquired from a timber and mining company. Lookout Atlantis developed roads and lakes and subdivided lots, while retaining much of the woods, wildness and natural beauty of the land, to create a unique type of development. The first lots were sold in 1992 and the first houses built in 1993. From those beginnings, Lookout Highlands has grown to encompass a total of 175 lots and about 600 acres of common property. Currently about 60 families are either full or part-time residents. The community is governed by a board of directors and subject to recorded covenants and restrictions. Lookout Highlands is ideally suited to those who appreciate nature and are looking for an unhurried lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of the city. While you won't find streetlights, sidewalks, or manicured lawns here, you will find quiet lakes, meandering trails, cascading waterfalls, and plentiful wildlife just outside your door.
